Aistear in Junior Infants-Myself and My Family-Home
Our topic for Aistear during the month of September is Myself and My Family/Home. We have set up a home corner with a kitchen, dining area and living area. We are learning the names of all the different types of food and kitchen items and the vocabulary we might use in the home; in the kitchen, when serving/eating a meal or relaxing in the living area.
We have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen and have really enjoyed making and serving the dinner as well as many cups of tea, coffee and biscuits. We have been learning how to clean up after ourselves and keep our home clean and tidy.
In the construction area we have been designing and making our own homes out of a variety of building materials and have been very creative.
In the small world area we have been playing with our doll's house and have had lots of fun. We have also enjoyed playing in the sand box.
