Free School Books Agreement Form

Textbooks/Stationery, Pupil Insurance, Payments

Dear Parents,

As part of the Governments Free Books Scheme, the school will again be purchasing your child’s textbook and workbooks for the 2024-2025 school year. These will be kept in school until your child needs them in September.

Please note: All parents are required to complete the Free Books Agreement Form on our school website: https://stbrendanscartron.com/surveys/survey-31/ease

To fully equip your child for school you need to:

  1. Purchase a school uniform (tracksuit) and several white polo shirts from Kool Kidz or other shops in Sligo town. It is worthwhile having a spare uniform as spillages and accidents can happen during the busy school days.
  2. Purchase a raincoat (light for Autumn, heavier for winter) and shoes/runners suitable for an active and often wet playground. Shoes that are too large can pose a hazard on the playground.
  3. Purchase a lunch box to send in a small snack each day for your child to eat at the first break time. Children will get a free hot meal at lunchtime each day and unlimited fresh water throughout the school day.
  4. A schoolbag is optional as each child will have a homework folder
  5. Purchase the stationery supplies appropriate for each class- see list for your child’s class below
  6. Purchase a pencil case which will remain in the school for the year. It is a good idea to keep additional stationery supplies at home for homework purposes.
  7. Optional contribution to Allianz Pupil Personal Insurance Plan as detailed below
  8. Contribute to the art and photocopying costs detailed below
  9. Complete the Free Books Scheme Agreement form on the school website: https://stbrendanscartron.com/surveys/survey-31/ease

Optional Allianz Pupil Personal Insurance is also available through the school. Forms will be given to each child to take home and are available to download from our website. You must sign and submit the completed form to the school office. Payment should be made as above.

There are 2 options: 6 euro which provides insurance cover for your child for any activity usual to the school, carried out with the full knowledge of the Board of Management, including direct travel to and from such activities OR 9 euro which provides insurance cover for your child 24 hours a day for both school activities and
social, domestic and pleasure activities (including during school holidays).
