School Crest

Our school crest depicts the boat used by St. Brendan to cross the Atlantic ocean and sail to America long before Christopher Columbus is thought to have done so. In the background you can see the magical and mythological Knocknarea. Our school is uniquely situated overlooking some of Sligo’s most beautiful scenery with Sligo Bay stretching out before us and the majestic Benbulben mountain overlooking our playgrounds. We are proud of our environment and heritage and this is reflected throughout the curriculum and the ethos of the school.

“An Ród Seo Romhainn”

School Motto:

Our school Motto “An Ród seo Romhainn” means “this road before us“. It suggests a focus on progress and forward thinking as children embark on their educational journey with us. It is our wish that we inspire our children to follow that road to a lifelong interest in learning. It is up to us all, teachers, parents, families and friends, to work together to achieve this goal, in a successful and fulfilling way for all our pupils starting school in St. Brendan’s. We promote an inclusive, just, fair and non-discriminatory community environment for staff and pupils. We uphold the values of equality, respect for diversity and care for the natural environment.
