3rd & 4th Class were very busy today learning about plastic pollution in our seas and oceans, and also doing their bit to improve this by carrying out a litter pick up around the shoreline in Cartron Marsh.
We invited 'Flossie & the Beach Cleaners', a marine environmental charity based in Dublin, to give us a talk about saving our seas and sealife from the harms of plastic pollution. We also got to use a VR headset in the classroom, which was really cool.
We found some very interesting items during our cleanup eg a mattress, fishing nets, a crutch, a bucket, an electric blanket and so much more.
This was a great experience and we all had great fun.
