Celebrating Maths Week 2023
Maths week is here!
Our school is a a hive of activity as we get ready to celebrate maths week from Monday 16th to Friday 20th October. In line with the new primary maths curriculum, we are aiming to place a huge emphasis on the fun elements of maths and encourage all children to use their maths eyes and explore maths all around them.
To start off our week, children in the junior classes will participate in a 'Maths is Fun' lesson led by 5th class pupils. The senior classes will go head to head in a daily riddle competition and there are lots of prizes up for grabs!
Other learning experiences will include exploring with Bee-Bots, IZAK9 cubes, problem solving challenges, online maths quizzes, maths trails and learning how to play Kahoot.
To finish off our week, 6th class are hosting a spectacular maths carnival in our school hall where every pupil will engage in playful maths activities including lots of challenges and competitions. We invite parents, grandparents or relatives to join us between 2-3pm on Friday 20th October.
