Christmas Crib Prayer Service
Ms Hurley held a lovely prayer service around our Christmas Crib on 21st Dec. Ms Kenny lit all the candles on our Advent Wreath symbolising peace, love, joy and hope. Mark from 6th class read from the Prophet Isaiah who foretold the birth of the baby Jesus many, many years before it came to pass. Ms Kerins read from the gospel story of the first Christmas. SNA Rita read the Crib Blessing prayer beautifully at the end. We all joined in by singing Silent Night, Away in a Manger, Do you Hear What I Hear and several other songs of praise and celebration. Ms Hurley asked us all to think of ways that we could be kind and thankful over Christmas and we closed our eyes to think about people in our lives who might need our prayers especially at this time. It was nice to take a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle to think about the true meaning of Christmas.
