Day of the Dead
This year we knew Halloween would be different, so we decided to celebrate 'El día de Los meurtos' instead!
We prepped by learning all about Mexico. We studied the country and it's traditions in geography. In history, we learned where Day of the Dead originated and what it means. In poetry, we learned a poem to celebrate life.
For our art work, we made some colourful skulls, did some mindful colouring, made papier maché skull masks and even tried our hand at some finicky and delicate papel picado!
Finally, we dressed in colourful clothes and listened to some cool Mexican music. We remembered our loved ones who passed away and shared some great memories. We ended our day watching 'Coco' and having a few goodies!
