First Class History Trip to Parkes Castle
We had a great trip to Parkes Castle today. To say we were excited would be an understatement. We had an amazing time making memories with our friends.
First, we got on the bus, and we got to see the beautiful scenery surrounding the castle and Lough Gill. We had a lovely sing song that kept the bus driver Kevin entertained.
Then, we got a walking tour of the castle. A big thank you to our wonderful tour guide, Seamus. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and your funny stories that gave us plenty of giggles throughout. We learned so much about the history of the castle and also about the O'Rourke and Parkes family. Seamus was very impressed when we got 100% in the quiz at the end of the tour.
Next, we had a lovely picnic in the courtyard. Thankfully, the sun was shining down on us.
Finally, we went to Hazelwood forest for a nature walk whilst observing signs of autumn and completing our autumn survey.
