March & April in Mrs Kelly’s Class
We had lots of fun at school in March and April.
In March, we voted in the Student Council elections and took part in a drumming workshop. The book fair came to school, and we all got new books. We participated in Lá Glas, wore green and enjoyed the parade around Cartron. We did our Easter art and had an Easter egg hunt.
In April, we went on a trip to Lough Key Forest Park on the bus one rainy day, where we did the tunnels and tree top walk, went for lunch in the café and played in their playground with lots of slides. We participated in a photography competition & exhibition in ATU (pictures in another post) and we took part in International Day in the school hall. We loved learning about all the different countries our friends come from.
We did lots of Attention Autism with Emer. This works on our awareness of others, our attention, our listening and turn-taking. We also did lots of Active Walking as we are an Active School. In March our class walked a combined total of 95.64km. That is an average of 1.14km per child per school day!
