Our 1st STEM challenge of the year
We were very excited to participate in our first STEM challenge of the school year.
Each group had one packet of wooden skewers and one packet of mini marshmallows. Our challenge was to build the tallest, free-standing tower we could in 30 minutes. We had great fun trying our best, and it was really interesting to discover lots of challenges along the way. We decided that we should try cocktail sticks and different size marshmallows next time.
One group managed to make a square-based pyramid. We realised the importance of the process, and worked on problem-solving as a team.
