Roald Dahl Day 2022
Happy World Roald Dahl Day!
Today, the 13th of September, was Roald Dahl Day. We celebrate the day on his birthday each year. 3rd Class were very excited to participate, as we have been reading "The Twits". Roald Dahl wrote some funny and entertaining books, and we are enjoying his stories in our room. Well done to the boys and girls who dressed up as characters too!
To celebrate Roald Dahl Day, we were very busy in 3rd Class. First we did a Roald Dahl wordsearch. Next we played SNAP and memory with our partners, using Roald Dahl characters. We followed a delicious recipe to bake "The Trunchbull's Chocolate Cake" from Matilda. This was definitely our favourite part of the day. The cake was scrumptious, rich and chocolatey.
After lunch, we worked in groups to draw and paint life-size characters from The Twits. We experimented with white paint to make different shades. When we finished that, we wrote all about Roald Dahl and Roald Dahl Day in our copies.
Finally, we coloured some Roald Dahl characters for our wall, and finished the day with a fun Roald Dahl based maths, memory and fact quiz. It was a busy day, but we had the best of fun!
