SECRET READER & D.E.A.R

We welcomed another Secret Reader to First Class today. What an amazing start to the week and a great way to kick start our literacy month in St.Brendans.  For the month  of February and March we invited parents, grandparents, teachers into First class to share their love for reading and to motivate the children to pick up a book and read for fun. The reader remained hidden and remained a secret until their identity was revealed by the class. Once revealed the secret reader continued to read the story with the children.  It has been a memorable  experience for all.  You could hear a pin drop.  I cannot thank parents and grandparents for their support. It's still not to late to get involved. Please contact the school office if interested. 
Today we started Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R)  time..It was a huge success.  This will continue for the month of March.
