September 2022 in Senior Infants
As you can see, we have been very busy here in Senior Infants during the month of September. We have had so much fun and completed lots of hands on learning.
We were very lucky with the weather as we got to do most of our PE lessons outside. We focused on athletics and learned lots of different ways to hop, jump, throw and even took part in mini relay races. We had so much fun! On the rainy days, we had a lot of movement/dance breaks and were even lucky enough to bring down our giant Connect 4 games and dominos to our classroom.
We learned all about our senses and carried out a sensory walk outside, noting what we could see, smell, touch and hear along the way (we thought it best to leave out taste on this occasion).
At the beginning of September, we drew self portraits. Each one was unique. We also created fabulous Autumn art. We created Autumn leaf art using leaf templates and chalk. We also made beautiful Autumn trees that you can see displayed on our classroom windows. The students are very proud of these!
Maths consisted of a lot of counting, matching and sorting, using various concrete resources such as cubes, animals, straws etc.
We can't wait to see what October brings, maybe a lot of SPOOKY activities.
We would like to thank Ms. Tuohy and Ms. Barkey for all of their help each day.
